Course Description:
This course introduces teachers to a compelling model and framework to teaching mathematics. More specifically, teachers will learn mathematics-related strategies in three categories: feedback, content, and context. One hundred detailed strategies and examples for implementation are discussed in the course text.
By the end of the course, teachers will be able to:
- provide clear learning goals in math
- conduct all types of math lessons (direct instruction, deepening lessons, and knowledge application lessons)
- engage students, implement rules and procedures, build relationships, communicate high expectations, and develop expertise; all in the subject of mathematics
