Course Description:
In this course, K-12 educators will take an in-depth look at games, gaming culture and game design to identify the characteristics of gameplay that make it such a powerful learning tool. Regardless of whether or not you teach technology or are a “Techie”, you can incorporate these techniques and best practices to gamify your instruction. Move your classroom from teacher centered to student centered while learning methods for transforming lessons into multiplayer games that engage all your learners, including gifted and students with special needs.
Learning Outcomes/Competencies:
At the completion of this course, the learner will be able to:
- Incorporate gameplay elements such as social interaction to engage a new generation of learners through familiar modes of entertainment. InTASC 4,8
