Course Description:
This course focuses on the Habits of Mind as practiced behaviors for lifelong learners. The course will explore the habits, how to introduce and sustain them as part of teachers’ planning and lesson building across a variety of disciplines and grade levels. The Habits of Mind course will provide educators with knowledge of their meaning, ways to teach the habits and skills, as well as the strategies to apply them. By learning and applying the Habits of Mind, students will acquire long-term skills and behaviors for present and future success, as well as facing challenges in and out of the classroom.
Learning Outcomes/Competencies:
At the completion of this course, the learner will be able to:
- Design lessons to integrate the Habits of Mind into curriculum. InTASC 1,7
