Course Description:
The purpose of this course is to provide teachers with a variety of strategies designed to help students succeed. All of the strategies have been proven to succeed based on research conducted in the classroom. Throughout this course, the educator will learn practical ways to use all nine of the strategies provided by the authors. The goal of this course is to show every educator the research and theory that can help their students.
Learning Outcomes/Competencies:
- At the completion of this course, the learner will be able to:
- Identify and describe the five essential paradigms to implement the CCSS for mathematics. InTASC 7, 8
- Work with fellow teachers as a collaborative team to improve learning for all students. InTASC 9, 10
- Use the various resources provided to find activities ready for immediate use in the classroom. InTASC 1, 4, 5
- Have a thorough understanding of the Standards for Mathematical Practice and Standards for Mathematical Content. InTASC 4
- Understand the importance of providing interventions and supports to help students successfully learn rigorous standards for college or career. InTASC 4, 5, 7, 8
