Course Description:
This course, along with the text, explores and joins the four principles of systems thinking- (1) relationships, (2) communication, (3) responsiveness, and (4) sustainability. Educators will receive guidance on how to manage student behavior, and they will understand how establishing a culture grounded in positive learning environments will lead to successful behavior management. K-12 teachers and administrators will learn how to create a positive learning environment by building relationships, addressing problem behaviors, and using new tools and strategies to maintain positivity in the classroom.
Learning Outcomes/Competencies:
At the completion of this course, the learner will be able to:
- Understand the importance of communicating behavior expectations and teaching desired behaviors. (InTASC 2, 4, 5, 8)
- Reflect on the importance of cultural change in successful behavior management. (InTASC 2, 5, 9)
